Long run...early start to beat the heat. Was 70 degrees at start of run. Little or no winds.Run mostly in the shade.
Fueling:NO Breakfast. one AE and one AF before leaving.
One gel just before getting to the park.
One enduro at mile 3
One gel at mile 6.
One AE and one AF at mile 7.5
One enduro at mile 8
One enduro at mile 10, I think.
Drank 10oz on first and second loop. Stopped at my car to get a fresh 10oz bottle. No pee break this run.
Drank 10 oz Recoverite, I ate a ham sandwich and a dozen or so grapes after the run and still weighed in at 149.6 when I got home.
Felt very good at beginning of run.(mile 0-3) Settled in from mile (3-6). At half way point my garmin said 1:01. Decided to push on the last final loop. Felt I worked hard to keep up the pace throughout the last loop; harder than I have ever run on the last loop. Had hoped for a sub 2:00 hr run but did not quite make it. However, I did set a PR for the run also beat my previous long run of 13.1 by 17 seconds. I also liked by speed pick up throughout the last loop of the run.
