Learn how to build and configure tables, assign background colors, change text colors, insert hyperlinks and insert pictures into your training log.

Ever wonder how some BT'ers create beautiful training logs complete with elegant tables, colors and pictures?  We will show you how to customize and personalize the 'Dachboard' of your training blog.

    We will discuss:

    1. Configuring your settings
    2. Creating a table
    3. Table colors
    4. Change text colors
    5. Change text background
    6. Insert a picture
    7. Adding a hyperlink
    8. Modify an existing table

    1a - CONFIGURE SETTINGS
Go to your main Settings > 'Forum' tab and make sure it says 'Yes' for "Use rich editor for blog and forum posts?"

1b - GO TO YOUR DASHBOARD
To edit your 'Dashboard' which is the top part of your training log, go to your 'Settings' > 'Training Blog Customization' > 'Dashboard':

    2 - CREATE A TABLE
Tables are great for making lists of goals or races where you can apply table background colors to.  Here is how to create a simple 2 row, 1 column table:

    • Click on the Insert/Modify Table Icon.
    • Configure # columns and rows.
    • Set width to '100%'.  Alternatively you can only put the number if you want a set pixel width.  For example, 200 pixels would simply be '200'.
    • Select a border width if you want a table border.  Set to '0' for no border.

    3 - TABLE COLOR
Switch from the the 'General' to the 'Advanced' tab in the above picture to get the below picture to assign a color to your table.

    • Background image (not shown, but insert a hyperlink to an image if you want an image instead of a color)
    • Border color and Background color: Click on the box to get a color grid to select color.

Repeat as needed for more tables:

    4 - CHANGE TEXT COLOR
Type your text out and highlite it first then go to the 'Select Text Color' icon to choose text colors:

    5 - CHANGE TEXT BACKGROUND
This is a new example.  Type your text, highlite it and choose the 'Select Background Color' icon:

In this case since we made a dark green background, we want a light text color, white.

You can then do this same thing with the table text that you previously created.

    6 - INSERTING A PICTURE:

    • Insert the cursor where you want a picture
    • Click on the 'Insert/Edit Image' (picture of a tree) icon.
    • Insert/Paste the URL of the picture.

Then go to the 'Appearance' tab to assign picture attributes like the Dimensions (to resize it) and Borders.

The 'Advanced' tab allows further customization for picture swaps when you hover over it:

Getting your picture URL from your BT albums
*If you use a picture from your BT albums, go to your albums in a new window, right click on the picture you want and select 'Properties' to get the URL:

    Select URL and Copy it:

Then paste the URL where appropriate when you select the 'Insert/Edit Image' icon.

    7 - ADDING A HYPERLINK
Hyperlinks (links to another website) can be added to pictures or text.  Just select or highlite what you want linked and click on the 'Insert/Edit' link button (the chain link icon).

*For 'Target', choose the 'Open in new window/frame' so the viewer doesn't have to leave your training log.

    8 - MODIFYING A TABLE
To go back to and modify any table attribute, select the table by clicking on it's borders:

You will then see the table 'highlited'. Then click on the 'Insert/Modify Table' icon to change the attributes (size, color)

    Your Done!

(Thank you to Q - these are his race listings)

If the above tutorials fail to help you with a problem you're experiencing, please post your question in the 'Training Log Forum'. Myself or other loggers will help you.

Endless Pools® is our proud 2010 supporter of the training logs. It is through them that we have been able to add a tremendous amount of new features this year.
